All in breakfast

Coconut Banana Granola

It's been a about a week since I've been able to do anything for the blog. Sorry about that. I had to get packed and ready to go home back to San Francisco. I had taken a two week vacation that turned into a 6 month trip. Life happened and getting back on track was what this week was all about.

When I called my uber I thought about what was in my fridge in my apartment. I knew there couldn't be anything still good in there. So I knew I needed to restock my pantry and my fridge asap. Luckily we are fortunate to live in a day and age with Uber, Good Eggs, and Google Shopping Express. While riding back into the city I ordered the basics from Costco, some home essentials from Target, and some amazing fresh produce and meats from Good Eggs. After all the ordering I still thought I didn't have anything to eat. Funny how a full fridge still equals nothing to eat. For breakfast I knew I wanted some granola. I could of ordered some great options but there is something so satisfying about creating your own favorite flavor. Enter Coconut Banana Granola.

Bacon, Onion, and Brie Quiche

Ever had one of those nights when you can't decide what to make for dinner. I have those at least once a week. In my family we love breakfast for dinner. Quiche is a dish that even the pickiest eaters love. What could go wrong with bacon, eggs, and cheese, placed into a buttery flakey crust. There a few ways you can make this quickly, but I will save that for another day.

Apple Dumpling Gang

After becoming an avid blog reader I noticed I started to have what other's call blog envy. There were purses I knew I shouldn't buy, shoes I knew I couldn't afford and dream homes I had pinned on Pinterest that would never be mine. I started to see that same envy spill over into my food, even before I started blogging. There were cakes that were perfectly frosted, muffins with perfect domes, and doughnuts that were perfectly fried and I tried painstakingly to recreate them. One day I told myself I will get there. Having no formal training what so ever, it was going to be a day far from then. To be honest it will probably be a day far from now even.

Tale of Two Fritter Breads

I have an deep passion for apple fritters. In Hawaii and San Francisco they are hard to come by. But before breaking out my deep fryer I thought making them into something a little easier for the morning routine. Yes, Im guilty of making a big breakfast almost every morning. I need sustenance to live. Doughnuts = Sustenance. Here is the conundrum...

Chocolate Caramel Crunch Biscotti

Since I was a child I had a weird obsession with biscotti, I never liked coffee really but I loved these often stale or crunchy cookie like things. Then enter David Lebovitz's biscotti recipe. Im pretty much obsessed with David Lebovitz and wondered if he had a recipe for biscotti and low and behold, he did. So I set out to make a version that everyone would love with our without coffee. Not to toot my own horn but boy did I succeed. I had been given a box of snickers and wanted to find a way to use them in my recipe development, so you can see where this is going.

Cinnamon Rolls

I love Fall. Though I live in a place that doesn't have seasons like many of you know and love, I celebrate it in spirit. Nothing says more to me than crispy fall mornings or holidays are coming more than cinnamon and sugar. My cinnamon rolls are a family favorite that I stumbled upon making by trial and error. I know the recipe seems long and daunting but once you get the flow you can whip these up pretty quickly.

White Chocolate Raspberry Muffins and the great cupcake debate.

The other day I got into a heated "discussion" about the difference between a cupcake and a muffin. My friend stated if it had frosting that equals a cupcake, my other friend said if it had chocolate. My argument was all about the batter, they were mini quick breads, which meant the batter would be lumpier. The muffin even a little denser. I know this post will stir up a lot of heated comments, so please try these muffins then comment below.
